Final Expense Script for Call Centers: Fronter and Verifier

A final expense script qualifies callers for a small whole life policy that covers funeral and burial costs. The fronter checks age (usually 50 to 80), state, tobacco use and the carrier's health questions, then transfers qualified callers live to a licensed agent who quotes the policy. Below: the full script, objections, handoff, verifier steps and rejection reasons.

Fronter

Final Expense fronter script

This is a sample. Run the script and disclosures your compliance team has approved for your campaign and your states.

  1. 01

“Hi, is this [Caller first name]? This is [Agent name] with [Agency name] on a recorded line. How are you doing today?”

  2. Read your approved disclosure here, word for word. [Your required disclosure]
  3. 02

“I'm following up on the request for information about final expense coverage. Quick question: in your family, are you the one who usually takes care of things when something comes up?”

  4. 03

“The person who handles things often ends up paying for final arrangements out of pocket. That's what these small whole life plans are for. Can I ask a few quick questions to see if a licensed agent can help?”

  5. 04

“Are you somewhere between 50 and 80 years old?”

  6. 05

“And which state do you live in?”

  7. Outside the age band or your licensed states: thank the caller, disposition and end politely.
  8. 06

“Have you used any tobacco or nicotine products in the last 12 months?”

  9. Ask only your carrier's health knock-outs, in its order. A disqualifying answer ends the call kindly, without probing.
  10. 07

“[Carrier health question 1]? And [carrier health question 2]?”

  11. 08

“[If your buyer requires it] Do you have an active checking or savings account? I don't need any numbers, just a yes or no.”

  12. 09

“Great, that fits. A licensed agent can give you the actual price for your age and health in a couple of minutes, with no obligation. Please stay on the line while I connect you.”

Objections

Final Expense objections and rebuttals

What callers say most often, and a compliant answer for each. Acknowledge, answer briefly, then move the call forward or end it.

  1. Caller: “I already have life insurance.”

“That's great. A lot of people just want to check whether what they have would cover final costs. The licensed agent can look at that with you, and there's no obligation.”

  2. Caller: “I can't afford anything right now.”

“I understand. That's why the agent shows options at different coverage levels, so you can see if anything fits your budget. If nothing does, that's completely fine.”

Never quote a premium or a payout on the fronting call.

  3. Caller: “Just send me something in the mail.”

“I wish I could, but the price depends on your age and health, so it has to be worked out with you. It only takes a couple of minutes, or I can set a callback for a better time.”

  4. Caller: “I'm too old, nobody will cover me.”

“A licensed agent can check what options there are for your age and health. If there's nothing that fits, they'll tell you straight.”

Never promise approval or guaranteed coverage.

  5. Caller: “How did you get my number?”

“[State your lead source exactly as your compliance team approves it, for example: You requested information on final expense coverage on [source] on [date].]”

  6. Caller: “I don't give my bank details over the phone.”

“That's a smart rule, and I won't ask for them. I only need a few basic answers to see if a licensed agent can help you.”

  7. Caller: “Take me off your list.”

“Of course. I'm marking your number as do not call right now, and you won't hear from us again. Have a good day.”

End the call straight away. Do not rebut, do not ask why. Mark the number DNC before the next dial.

Transfer

The transfer handoff

  1. 01

“Hi [Closer name], I have [Caller first name] on the line from [State]. They're [age], [tobacco or non-tobacco], and passed the health questions.”

  2. 02

“[Caller first name], [Closer name] is the licensed agent who'll go over your options. It was nice talking with you.”

  3. Stay on until the closer greets the caller, then drop. Older callers hang up on silence.
Quality

What gets a transfer rejected

  • The caller is outside the carrier's age band
  • A health knock-out the fronter missed
  • The caller lives outside the agent's licensed states
  • Someone else answered for the caller, or the caller was confused
  • The caller was promised a price, a payout or guaranteed approval
  • The disclosure was skipped
  • Dead air, or the caller hung up during the transfer
  • It breaks your buyer's duplicate or minimum-duration rules
Verifier

Final Expense verification script

The verifier confirms the details on a recorded line, one statement at a time, and saves every answer.

Verification steps

  1. 01Confirm the applicant's identity: full name, date of birth and address
  2. 02Confirm the applicant is speaking for themselves and understands the call
  3. 03Read back the coverage amount and monthly premium exactly as the licensed agent wrote them
  4. 04Confirm the beneficiary's name and relationship
  5. 05Confirm the first payment date
  6. 06Read back the health answers, capture a clear yes or no to each, and mark the verification passed or failed

Verifier script

  1. 01

“Hi [Caller first name], this is [Agent name] with [Agency name] on a recorded line. I'm just confirming the details of the application you completed today.”

  2. 02

“Can you confirm your full name and date of birth?”

  3. 03

“The agent wrote a policy for [coverage amount] at [monthly premium] a month. Is that what you agreed to?”

  4. 04

“And your beneficiary is [Beneficiary name], your [relationship]. Is that right?”

  5. 05

“Your first payment is set for [date]. Does that work for you?”

  6. Read each required health answer and statement, one at a time. A confused or hesitant answer is a fail.
  7. 06

“Thank you, that's everything. Your details are confirmed.”

Compliance

Before you run it

  • Identify yourself and your agency at the start of the call
  • Read the disclosure your compliance team approves for your carrier and your states
  • Never quote prices or promise coverage; the licensed agent does that
  • Be patient and clear: many callers are older
  • Record every call
  • Honor do-not-call requests immediately

Run this script on a bot

A B3 Voice Final Expense bot reads your approved script on every call.

It understands the caller instead of playing recordings, answers questions, handles interruptions and transfers qualified callers to your agent. $40 a fronter a month, unlimited calls, 3-day free trial.

FAQ

Final Expense script questions

A final expense script is the wording a call center fronter follows to qualify callers for a small whole life policy that pays for funeral and burial costs. It covers the opener, your disclosure, age, state, tobacco and the carrier's health questions, then a live transfer to a licensed agent who quotes the policy.

A final expense fronter confirms the caller's age range, usually 50 to 80, their state and tobacco use, plus the health knock-out questions your carrier requires. Some buyers also ask whether the caller has an active bank account. Qualified callers go to a licensed agent; everyone else is thanked and the call ends.

Acknowledge the concern, answer it briefly and honestly, and ask one easy question to move forward. Never promise a price, a payout or approval. If the caller says no twice or asks not to be called, thank them and end the call, marking the number DNC when they ask.

Yes. A B3 Voice final expense fronter is patient and warm, asks your carrier's questions in your order, handles questions like why it needs the caller's age, and transfers qualified callers. You can hear recorded calls of our final expense bots on the final expense page.
